During the 2017-2018 academic year, Wake Forest continued its efforts at building a stronger campus community through a year-long focus that invited the community to understand and grapple with a more virtual, diverse, polarized and global society. This effort was called Rethinking Community and featured a series of conferences, dialogues, national speakers, performances, and much else.
In the fall of 2016, Wake Forest announced its intention to join the Universities Studying Slavery consortium, and the announcement was made in February of 2017.
In the 2012-2013 academic year, Wake Forest commemorated the 50th anniversary of its integration with the Faces of Courage celebration, honoring the legacy and important actions of all those – past and present — contributing to the diverse and vibrant campus community.
