The majority of the outcomes stemming from the Commission will be derived from the work conducted in 6 specific committees. The committees are:

-Academic Initiatives

-Community Engagement

-Equity & Employment

-Evaluations & Accountability

-Student Recruitment, Financial Aid, and Retention

-Student Social Belonging

Each committee is composed of 6-8 members. Members of the committees will be Commission members, as well as members of the Wake Forest community not specifically serving on the Commission. There also is room for members of the external community to participate at the committee level, at the discretion of committee chairs. Finally, all 6 committees are charged with the following the 5 principles below, in an effort to connect the individual work, recommendations, and outcomes of the committees.”

  1. Monthly meeting(s) to identify and analyze current policies and practices relevant to the committee’s described scope or focus and to generate recommendations for greater equity and inclusion
  2. Monthly report at the Commission meeting outlining progress, concerns and questions, and directions for next steps
  3. Regular submission of meeting agendas and minutes in the committee folder on the shared Google Drive
  4. Inclusion, as full committee members, of community partners—whether within or beyond the Wake Forest Reynolda campus—whose expertise would complement and expand the work of the committee
  5. Final report with findings and recommendations to be integrated into the Commission’s final report
